Renée has been represented by Austin Harvard Gallery since 1993. She has sold numerous pastel and watercolor paintings to corporate and private collectors. In addition, she has had many successful shows as well as having been accepted in numerous juried exhibitions in which she has won several awards.
A member of the Degas Pastel Society, a national juried club, and locally, the Rochester Art Club, she has succeeded in making a name for herself locally as well as nationally. Her pastels of the Erie Canal, Mendon Ponds, Canandaigua Lake and other notable local areas have drawn art lovers to her work from all over the area. Renée’s paintings express a feeling of depth and beauty beyond what the eye can see. She captures the spiritual essence of a particular scene by painting beyond the veil, which transports the viewer to a place of inner joy and serenity.
Although, she received her art degree at State University of New York Empire State College, Renée credits her work in pastels to being self-taught. “I just loved pastels and as soon as I put one in my hand, the magic started to happen.”
"I am inspired by the spirit and rhythm in nature. Painting beyond what the eye can see is what I try to accomplish in each painting. Nature has a divine spirit that lives and breathes and speaks to us when we listen. I try to capture the voice, the movement and the essence. If you listen, the painting will speak to you, as well as take you on a visual journey. Pastel is a medium that expresses this best for me. Its pure colorful pigment brings nature to life on canvas." |
